A beautiful campsite - very cared for and Julien is a superb host. Facilities are fantastic. We stayed one night but are planning our return to stay a week.

We were able to pick our pitch. They were spacious. Toilets were clean.
The grass needed cutting so when wet after rain the dog and our shoes were always wet and muddy. I guess we went the wrong time of year, end September so things were closing down.

There was nothing to enjoy about our stay.

Again, nothing to say here.
All pitches in the area we had seemed to be on a slope. The pools were closed but however a cover or draining them would be better than green stagnant water. While in the shower the next morning the cleaners were in and were spraying bleach into the shower cubicles. Due to the way they were doing this bleach was getting sprayed under the cubicle from each side all over my feet and shoes. When I explained this to the staff member at reception, he just laughed! I asked him if that was acceptable as it has damaged my shoes. His reply was to laugh and smile. The worst attitude.

Hosts were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Facilities looked fantastic despite not using many due to short stay. Overall five star.
One of the toilet cubicles had a mess in but this is down to someone obviously having an accident. Was cleaned by next day.

When we arrived we were given a site map, and were told to have a walk round and pick a pitch and pop back and tell reception what pitch we had chosen. A very nice touch. It may not be always possible to do this if the park is full.

Good sized pitches, albeit most are on a slight slope. The toilet blocks are big enough for the size of the site and kept very clean. The pools and children's play area and extensive and well maintained. It is particularly nice to have a restaurant with a take away option on the site - very welcome after a long journey! Reception was very welcoming and helpful.
The site entrance is on a slight bend and is quite difficult to see oncoming traffic particularly when leaving with a caravan attached.

Worth a longer stay; big pitches; nicely maintained and very well run. Julian was an excellent and very experienced host. The pool was perfect and there is loads to explore in the area. We stopped here for two nights before take the ferry back to the UK. Great private. set up for our motorhome. Staff were amazing friendly & professional. Lovely and quiet for the size of the campsite. Hot clean showers and all facilities well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
if I had a negative it would be the food wasn’t great and portions were small and l felt it was way over priced for what you got. However, serving staff were excellent & attentive.

Open the bar earlier. N only open 3pm till 10pm so can't get ice creams etc till 3pm. Maybe a small shop on site.

We stayed for one night at this gorgeous site close to the Channel Tunnel terminal. The facilities were spotless and the reception team incredibly helpful. There's a lovely play park for the kids and swimming pool.

Excellent campsite, very clean and well maintained grounds and facilities. Great children's play area and the pools are beautiful.
The only thing is the pools were barely heated and that does make it somewhat less enjoyable for the kids and us.

We have stayed here many times and always get a lovely warm welcome which is a nice start to our holiday.

The site is only a short drive from Calais and a good first stop to begin our holiday. There is a lovely restaurant which also do takeaway and a bar with an outdoor seating area, all dog friendly. The toilets and showers are kept imacculate and you get a good hot shower. There is a pool, children’s play area and other activities for older children. The site is well laid out with good size pitches, electric hook up and plenty water points. Most of all we find the warm welcome and friendly staff are wonderful.

We chose this campsite based on its location, facilities and the recent reviews, and could not have been happier! We were warmly welcomed, the facilities were always clean and plentiful, and the bonus of lovely swimming pools with ample sun beds and the on site visit from the local bakery every morning meant each day was a hit with our little children! Our pitch was quiet and as our first time camping in France, we are so excited to return to make more memories in the future.

We stayed on a tent pitch with no electricity hook up. It was spacious, quiet, with great clean facilities within easy walking distance. The atmosphere of the whole site was friendly and safe. It was also brilliantly located for visits to the coast and Bruges, which we also really enjoyed.

Spent a lovely week here in a static chalet for our family holiday. We wanted something in France but not too much driving. This site ticked all of our boxes, very close to inbound ports, x2 very well kept swimming pools, nice and clean accommodation and all located in a wonderful forest setting. There's also a supermarket close by and lots of really great things to do within a 1 hour drive. Staff were very friendly and polite.
Only minor downside is the on-site restaurant doesn't offer a great range of dishes and the bar selection is also quite limited with only Stella and Leffe on tap. It was OK and convenient, but quite basic food and could do with being a little more varied, some simple charcuterie options or moules frites would have been great, and maybe one of the local IPA ales on tap since the local region has some great offerings. Having said that it was always quite busy in there and the terrace is the place to be in the evening while the kids are playing on the castle.

We had planned on just staying one night at this campsite however we had campervan problems and so ended up staying 2 nights. The reception staff were amazing especially the gentleman with the mini car. He was beyond helpful with helping find a garage to fix the van. Amazing pool for the kids and lovely bar area in the evenings.
Could do with the bar area being open maybe all day or a place to grab a coffee or tea.

Easy to check in, dog friendly. The facilities are good and a good bar and restaurant available. A short but decent dog walk is available, with longer walks close by. There are plenty of toilets and showers for such a big site. For such a large site, it is quiet and peaceful at night. Supermarket is close by.

The facilities are good but the site is not well run. Dogs are allowed to run off lead with no staff keeping an eye on this. I watched a dog running completely off lead in the children’s play area. Nothing was done by camp staff. Loud parties continue into the night and again there is no monitoring by staff. Considering the very high rates to stay here, the site should be run with more care for the visitors.

The site was beautiful, the facilities clean and maintained to a high standard and the food was great. Perfect for our family of two adults and two teens. The boys loved the pools and we loved the bistro and bar, the forest was peaceful and shady and the campsite was spacious and green. Staff were absolutely brilliant and we had the best time.

Its just off the motorway so perfect for a '1st or last night off the ferry' , nice quiet grounds as there's nothing else nearby, good play area, nice bar area, friendly bar staff.
The food was ok....but we had hoped for more. {Pizzas were pre-made so were a bit of a let down. Steak ok. Deserts frozen solid. Only a few wine choices available which again, we'd expect at least 5 or 10. Nothing to really complain about, it was all ok - just had hoped for more. The pool (and I realise it was school holidays) was just too busy. Two heated pool was still too cold for my toddlers, and not that big. so in school holidays it was obviously chaotic. All in all, we'd happily stay again, but would probably avoid the pool and eat in our motorhome. Would happily use the bar.

Campsite is nicely wooded with sunny and shaded areas. We enjoyed the table tennis, boules, fusbal and pool.
More cleaning of the toilet block and replenishing soap and toilet roll. Providing soap dispensers and hand dryers. Heating the pool. Making the restaurant less écho-y.

Staff attitude, ease of information being English especially with Julien the manager (I think) who speaks excellant English. Facilities are plentiful and at no extra cost, cleanliness of the site was fantasic to include wash, toilets and laundering facilies. The area is really safe and frequented by Dutch, Belgium, French, German and UK citizens. Pool is great although a little bit cold (kids Pool is heated) I stayed for two weeks with my three daughters and there families and Julien went out of his way to ensure we were all together and gave us a massive field to ourselves WOW that was great.
Please try to make the Kids pool a little warmer as it was really cold but to be fair the weather wasnt exactly very hot so this may have contributed to it feeling so cold.

Massive pitch was allocated to us which was excelkant and out of the way at the far end of the camp. Pitches in general are huge with plenty of room between tents and ample spaces for your vehicles. Shaded and sunny areas throughout just ask before you go with your preferences and Julien does the rest. He is a really top bloke and answers emails fast.
I think there is confusion at the restuarant with some staff with the language barrier and maybe that could be addressed. We had a lovely girl called Celest who was under considerable pressure on evening and may have made a mistake on the order but I think it could have been us as we were 14 strong that confused things for her. I felt really sorry for her as she did brilliant. Lucy who is resident on camp was tremendous as well. I would kindly suggest that someone on the serving team speaks more fluent English as there are a lot of UK Citizens using the camp. Hats off to Celeste and Lucy xx

Always a great stay, a lovely campsite, the chap on reception is always helpful and polite. Toilets and showers are plenty full and spotlessly clean. Two good pools. One is warmer than the other but I prefer a cold swim. We had food in the restaurant one night which was good value for the money. Bouncy castle and play park are great. A nice tennis court and football pitch too

Julian was very accomodating and the ability to choose our pitches (we joined family) made our stay. The site had everything we needed to entertain our 3 and 6 year olds. Lovely quiet area with plenty of walks and not too far from supermarket.

We had a pitch that was partially shaded that was perfect for us, even though we don’t mind if it is in full sun. The size was exactly what we expected.

No much but small points seeing as you asked … Cut the trees on the road ways as they rub on the motorhomes when driving to and from your pitch !! Recycling needs better labelling on the bins as it looks like it’s not being adhered too !! Entrance foliage needs cutting as the road sign is not visible until very late !!

Friendly staff, clean facilities, fantastic pool, tennis court, table tennis , nice large pitch, dogs allowed .....all good Stayed 2 nights. Wish we'd stayed a few more. Most people appear to use it as a one night stop prior to return to uk, hence its lovely and quiet in the pool in the mornings as most have left, until the next lot arrive.
This isn't the fault of the site and I'm adding this to a few reviews this year. If you have a dog that persistently yaps and barks at anything and everything perhaps caravan / motorhome holidays are not for you. I have a dog....we didn't bring him on holiday due to the expected heat, but there is nothing more annoying than people pitching next to you (we had it) with a dog whose barking they can't control. These people give dog owners a bad name and will result in lovely sites turning against dogs. If you have a dog like this I suggest leaving it at home so not to spoil other people's holiday

Incredible standard of cleanliness with a fabulous pool area in full sun throughout the whole day. Lovely staff and incredibly helpful. High standard of English spoken. The site is a short walk to a Boulanger and 1 mile from a very good supermarket. The Blockhous museum is a short distance by bike or a long walk.
Better restaurant hours would be an improvement as it’s not open in the day It could do with a small shop for camping essentials.

It's our second time staying here and after touring France and Spain this has been our favourite site. Beautifully kept with spacious green pitches. A perimeter walk around the site amongst the trees offers a cooler shaded walk perfect for our dogs. The facilities are well kept, clean and well maintained. We absolutely love it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it 😊 my only 'small' criticism is tbat I would love to see a couple of vegetarian or vegan options on the restaurant menu. But a fabulous site 😊

Peaceful environment, well maintained woodland walk. Swimming pool was a lovely size, great temperature. Plenty of sunbeds. Restaurant had great choice of food, something for everyone. There was also a takeaway and a bar, reasonably priced which was an added bonus. Julian gave us a map to le blockhaus, I totally recommend a visit, it was very emotional, but we learnt a lot. We would recommend this site to family and friends, we will definitely be coming back. The site was very much children ang dog friendly. Lovely friendly staff.

I booked on-line and paid £30 only to arrive and be told on arrival that we had not booked electric. I really felt that this had been orchestrated as they had already taken my money. As we were staying only one night, I declined the electric! We were put in a tent pitch which was okay. The toilets are old, but clean. We didn’t use the shower as we had an early crossing the next morning! On reflection, I wished we stayed on the aire in Watten that we’d stayed on which again had no electric but which was free and very pleasant, when we arrived in France.

A return after 10 years and all is still very good at Chateau du Gandspette. From making our reservation, answering queries, adding an extra night and arranging for our pet visit to the vets, all before we arrived, Julien was very helpful which gave us peace of mind for the end of our holiday. This is an excellent site. A very attractive setting with woodland areas. The camp is spacious and well set out. All the staff are lovely and friendly but a special mention must go to Julie’s who is always so pleasant, courteous and helpful. The swimming pools are lovely. The sanitary facilities are always clean and well maintained. The campsite is well situated for ferries and the tunnel, and close to a very good supermarket. It’s just a great site, great welcome, good facilities. Excellent location for Le shuttle when travelling to and from the UK. About 30 mins away!
A little heat in the shower area at the beginning of the season as it was freezing! But if that’s all the have to complain about I’ve got a sad life!

Lovely mature site, friendly team, really well maintained , good pitches and location fab so close to Calais we visited here first time 22 years ago camping with children and family group - back now as 60 year olds in our camper van and as nice as ever
Stoppers in the sinks -( must get myself one - realise remove flooding - alone gaps at the pitches to be changed to screw fittings so can use to attach a hose for filling. Water tank would be good also - overall Would change little - as nice as ever

Lovely pearly location and lovely walks around the attached woodland. Helpful friendly reception staff (Jeramy).
It would be nice to have a cafe open in the day, the bar and restaurant were only open a couple of days whilst there. The pool was not in use.

The site had great online booking. It was great to find somewhere so nice near the port for the last night of our trip. We got a large site with electric. The site has nice sports facilities, clean bathrooms and lovely trees.
I chose electric hookup on my booking and then had a confirmation without electricity. They double checked on arrival and we're able to offer electric hookup anyway so it was all sorted in the end

I thought it was a beautiful site with very large pitches.
No 200m sign post approaching from watten side. Zero facilities open. Gentleman on reception told me bakery 800m away would bd open, it wasn’t! This info should be known.

Large and clean although the power tripped out at 9 pm, luckily I managed to open the box to reset.
As already stated above, I think the cost should be reduced if there are no facilities open.

It’s lovely place and has nice feel, all service we’re really nice and the site has a lovely feel, however we booked knowing it had a restaurant, bar and other facilities on site however upon booking wasn’t told these would be closed and not ready for opening yet, this was disappointing to find out upon checking in

It was early season so very peaceful and we were fortunate to enjoy great weather. Short distance from Calais and ideal Base to explore further afield. We used it to watch Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix. Julian was very welcoming and provided assistance when requested.

We stayed for couple of days before coming back to England after our 2week holiday to Brugge, The Hague and Amsterdam, so was nice just to chill walk etc after all the city's adventures. Lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were all good and clean. Restaurant, swimming pool etc were closed for end of season but can imagine how nice it would all be in the mice weather. We will definitely use again if in the area and highly recommend.

They booked my spaniel into the vets for me! What a delight! Just popped 10 minutes down the road at 6 pm to get her worming tablet - vet adorable and very sweet with my belligerent bundle of joy! If you like one star Michelin restaurants, St Omer has a restaurant called Bacôve which is exceptional! Campsite is immaculate and staff wonderful. It’s our first and last stop every year now! :-))))(

This is the perfect stay near Calais. Very helpful Julien helped us find a local English speaking veg. Camp site is very well maintained. Great pitches. Very clean toilets and showers. It was late season so extra facilities were closed but they looked very good.

We had to change or booking dates after our holiday was cut short, but the staff were delightful and helpful, taking all stress away. Big pitches, clean facilities block. Reception staff were efficient, amusing and helpful. Restaurant on site serves hit, tasty food. Restaurant staff worked very hard to keep up with a busy service. Book a table if you can, it was busy!

It was really wet after torrential rain. We just managed to get off the pitch without damaging it, and moved to a pitch with hard standing surrounded by grass.

Always stop here on the way to and from Le Shuttle. Good pitches, clean facilities, good dog walking and a restaurant too. The staff are always friendly. Supermarket 2km max away from site.
Maybe more investment on the grass pitches to have the matting that prevents it getting too mucky after rain.

This is a well kept site about 30 mins drive to Calais with lots to offer - friendly atmosphere, good restaurant, tennis court and swimming pools to name just a few. It is a well run campsite, Julien is so informative, he gave me a map of dog walks in the forest between the campsite and the blockhaus and details of the local vet. We didn’t use the restaurant this time but from previous experience it is very good, and was busy whilst we were at the campsite. We did use the takeaway, the girl who was taking the orders was very tolerant of my awful pronunciation of her language! The toilets and showers are good, cleaned regularly and the toilets have seats and paper.

The pitches are a good size, the motorhome ones are hard standing with grass on top if a plastic grid.
Some pitches are not level, driving onto ramps with the grass being very wet was not the easiest.

Good sized pitches with sunshine and shade. Plenty of space to spread out and make yourself comfortable. Decent electricity supply so no need to worry about blowing a fuse if you turn on the hairdryer!

Sadly it rained and the grounds were damp and inplaces muddy. Last time we stayed here it was the same. That said, it is a fantastic site with good friendly welcoming and informative staff. The onsite restaurant was not tried by us, but looked good. Beer prices were a tad high. Good dog walk through the trees where our Toby was able to run free. Pitches are of a good size and well spaced apart. Well placed a for a visit to the Block House V1 and V2 bomb WW2 place. (worth a visit) abvout 12km to St Omer and a large Auchen shopping centre.. A small but well stocked Carrefor is about 2km a
More privacy to the gents urinals. Their swing saloon type doors are inadequate and some missing. Facilities were clean and tidy. Plenty of showers and toilets, washing up etc in ratio to the number of pitches.

Excellent place to stay for last night of holiday. Good facilities and bar, restaurant, takeaway. This meant we could enjoy our last night without the usual set up etc.
It was a very wet evening and the restaurant was full. There could be a couple more small tables just for drinkers as some people came in and left as there was no where for them to sit.

We have stayed at Gandspette many times over the years, usually in a tent but sometimes in a camper van. We like the site very much. On this occasion we had just crossed from the UK and wanted to make an early start on our journey through France the next day. So we wanted somewhere reliably comfortable and efficient.
Nothing negative to say about the site at all (Except maybe about the wash-basin taps in the sanitaires. They have some kind of sensor to regulate the flow of water which I find completely baffling.) It was the most expensive site we stayed at throughout our touring holiday in France, but justified by the location, the quality of the facilities, and the fact that this was still high season.

The pitch was a good size (enough room for the campervan and also to sit outside it), not on too much of a slope (easy to correct with ramps under the wheels), with nearby access to electricity and water.

The site was generally ok.
We arrived late, after about 5 hours of driving and our travelling companions (who arrived a few hours earlier) checking in and let us know where our pitch was. When we arrived, we didn't spot the sign for reception (it was behind a tree but was at least partly visible to be fair but just missed it), so headed straight to the pitch. Was chased by a very angry man telling me that he wasn't happy and generally being aggressive. Just not the best start really. It was an honest mistake and really didn't need such an aggressive action. Restaurant staff also less than helpful.

Amazing site- so much to do for the kids- park pool and bouncy castle, chickens roaming around, bar and restaurant with take away options, big pitches and really well kept site. The toilets and showers were spotless the whole time, being cleaned constantly. People were all lovely. We loved our stay and will definitely be rushing back!

We used this site as the start and finish to our holiday before moving on to it's associated site at Le Lac d'Orient. There are lots of activities for children and a good restaurant/bar to relax in. We appreciated that they gave our son's family and us adjoining sites for our caravans.

Love this site and use it when we arrive near the coast for our return to the UK. This time I had inadvertently booked a pitch without electricity and Julian had amended it on the assumption we would need power :). - Great customer service - thank you.
The only adverse comment I would make would be around guests rather than the site. The pool is unsupervised and several teenagers by the pool were rugby tackling each other and throwing each other into the pool. The poolside was quite slippery and whilst I am not anti kids having fun, the risk of a head injury is greater and it did worry me why the parents didn't rein them in!

Loved the on-site restaurant, beer, swimming pools, table tennis, fresh bread in the morning, spacious pitches surrounded by mature trees. Spotless showers and toilets. A fabulous setting.
Don’t advertise ice creams throughout the day but put the freezer in the bar area and lecture guests for trying to make a purchase for their child when the bar is closed.

I didn’t like being lectured re the ice cream nor, when trying to ask politely in my limited French whether the receptionist spoke English, to be told abruptly : “Non… I hate it when people ask me that.” That wasn’t a nice way to be welcomed to your campsite.

A brilliant campsite for little ones with plenty on offer to keep everyone entertained. Facilities were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Easy access to St Omer and Dennlys parc. Also great distance from Calais port and Rotterdam Europoort. It was useful to have a supermarket only 1km away. We had a fantastic time and won't hesitate to return.

The swimming pools were a little cold at times but still fine and enjoyed during the hotter days.

Everything - welcome on arrival was great, lots of info regarding opening times of facilities etc. Emplacement was large and all well spaced out. We used the bar which was busy with other campers - but service prompt. Though we didn’t use it the pool area looked welcoming and was a hit with other campers as there were lots of people in there. All in all a great place to stay and we will return - but for a few days next time. Too good for just the one night!

This was our second stay at this site and we were not disappointed. Very clean with lovely helpful staff. Pools were great for the kids and the park. The bar was great for us adults to enjoy a glass or two of rose wine.

Good location not far from Calis. Close to local shops and supermarkets. Lovely setting in woodland.
Grass area cut shorter. Trees overhanging the road cut back as this made it a little difficult to get the Motorhome to the pitch.

We’ve stayed here before so know what to expect. It’s a great little campsite with grass pitches, pool and a wonderful little restaurant/bar. Everything is well maintained and the toilet/bathroom blocks are clean and work well; we’ve stayed in a few campsites where the toilets and showers are not the best but these were so much better and very spacious. The restaurant is always worth a visit with a good choice of food and not very expensive at all. The staff are all friendly and the owner (I presume he is the owner) has a fantastic sense of humour and will help you as much as he can.
A little pricey for a one night stay but we do particularly like this campsite.

Perhaps have a request in place for less noise after 10pm. We did have one family that were playing music quite loudly late. We asked them to turn it down politely and they did, but having a site rule would hopefully mean that people would be more thoughtful in the first place.

I liked the flexibility in terms of where we could pitch our tent on the electric free fields. There was plenty of shade when we needed it.
The tree roots were very close to the ground, which made the ground hard in places.

This site is beautifully laid out, with a pool area, large kids play area, boules pistes and lots of open space. It also has a restaurant with excellent, well priced food, a bar and a daily fresh bread delivery. Booking is easy and very efficiently handled on arrival. This is our fourth stay and we will definitely return. It is a perfect start and finish to our touring holidays around France.

Welcoming atmosphere, great amenities and friendly staff. Truly didn't know what to expect as it was our first time camping in france. We would 100% return to this site. Reception were friendly, funny and very welcoming and the pool/sports areas were great for kids during a VERY hot week. Clean toilets and showers. Plenty to do and see in the local area and on site bar and restaurant made it very comfortable and relaxed.
Only 2 issues came up during our stay. The edge of the pool was very rough and resulted in a scratch to the foot for our son that was painful. And perhaps another hand washing sink at the toilet block would be great to reduce wait time

A peaceful site with lots of leisure activities. Get to the pool early to have it to yourself! Swimming pools, tennis courts, multisport pitch, basketball and table tennis. Excellent size pitch, with water close by. Restaurant and takeaway service, we had pizza and frites, very tasty - as was the beer on the terrace while we waited! Lovely walk into and around the forest. Easy walk to the Blockhouse, everyone must visit. Carrefour a couple of minutes away, with petrol station.

Lovely clean place, reception and other staff very friendly. Pool is lovely and clean, no shop on site and no near by shop so take what you need. Mozzies got quite bad so take repellent for night time. Lovely park and bouncing castle for kids. Bar and icecream is a nice touch. They do serve food but cannot comment as did not try it. Toilets and showers cleaned regularly. We would stay again.

This is our third visit to Château du Gandspette and the first in summer. We originally stayed here due to its proximity to the tunnel but it's a wonderful campsite and we wanted to come when all the facilities were open. Would happily just stay here for a full holiday. As it is we were supposed to leave on Saturday but decided to stay a bit longer
The taps near the pitches. Good flow on the water (almost too powerful) and good for water bottles etc but no way to get a hose over the faucet to fill the van tank

We only booked as a one night stop over from the ferry. Great pitch, (66). Campsite is beautifully maintained. We ate at the dog friendly restaurant and the food was delicious. Visited the Eperneque Blockhaus which is a short walk away, (again dog friendly). Really worth going to and even worth a trip to the campsite just for that. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to tour France and loved it so much that we stayed here for another couple of nights before we went back to England as well. It's in a lovely setting with great facilities. The on site restaurant and bar is great and it has outdoor facilities too including pools, tennis courts, fitness equipment etc. The man at reception is very friendly and allows you to try out your French whilst helping you out by replying in English! Would recommend.

We had a grass pitch which had plastic squares set underneath to help with any sinkage there might be in wet weather, electric point to the pitch and water very close by.
Would have preferred to be not amongst "all English" travellers, but can understand why the Chateau would put people only staying one or two nights in the same area to avoid disturbing other longer term holidaymakers.

Just about everything. Lovely site which has all the facilities you would need on a holiday or overnight stop. Loos, showers all spotlessly clean & loo rolls in the loos which was a bonus! Swimming pool, tennis court, kids park, boules, lovely restaurant & bar & dog walk through woods which was brilliant for us with our mad spaniel. All the staff are so friendly & helpful & Julian in reception even gave us advice & directions to get to a local vet so we could get our dog his tapeworm treatment before we came back to the UK. Loved the site & will be back.
Only minor issue for us was the trees at the back of our pitch were low & overhanging quite a bit over the pitch & over our van which made it quite dark but it wasn’t a huge issue.

We arrived for one night stopover after crossing on the Eurotunnel, but wished we had booked for longer, stunning location, lovely staff, excellent facilities. I'll be back again, can't wait to have a lovely swim in the beautiful pool.

This was the second time I've stayed here and it lived up to all our expectations. The site is beautiful and immaculate. The swimming pools are excellent with one hearted and one not so always a choice. I don't know if it's because we visited in June before the kids break up but it is always quiet and we had the pool almost to ourselves. I really recommend chateau ganspette and it's definitely worth spending a few days here.

The camping fields are well maintained and are obviously regularly mowed. The shower block is nearby and always clean. Again, we had almost the whole field to ourselves and was very quiet. An excellent stay. Thank you so much

Wonderful staff, Julien is a great site host! The restaurant is very convenient serving good local cuisine, great after a long days driving! Facilities are immaculate and the pool great! Great for a one night stay if travelling but also fab for a longer stay as well.

We have stayed at this site 4 times before, always two weeks at a time, and loved it, so when we were planning a driving tour around Europe we decided to drop in for just 3 nights before getting the ferry home. The site is clean, comfortable, and well-managed and maintained. Being less than 30 miles from Calais and Dunkirk, it's an ideal stopover when going to or from the ferry, but with so much to do and see on site and around the area, I suggest staying longer than just an overnight stop. Great food and drink, clean facilities and 2 lovely pools - what's not to like. Highly recommended.

Pitch well-maintained and slightly sloping, well drained and was large enough for a huge tent or caravan. 10 amp electrics were great, and although we occasionally ran at near the limit (electric cooking rings and kettle), we had no problem. As often happens in France, the polarity on our post was reversed. If this is a problem for you, remember to take a polarity reversing connector. Standard UK connectors are used on all pitches. Toilet and washroom facilities, as well as washing up and laundry sinks were cleaned several times a day and always immaculate. This is why we keep coming back.
Would have loved to stay longer, but we couldn't. That's our fault though, not theirs!

We stayed in our campervan but did not require electric. The non-electric area turned out to be a scruffy bit of land, tucked away in a corner. The grass was long and there were no marked out pitches. We appeared to be second class customers. For the price we expected a decent pitch.

I have stayed here before and again the facilities are superb. Beautiful location for each secluded pitch. Clean showers etc. Friendly staff. Are in the restaurant after a long drive up from the Le Mans 24 hour race. It finished off a great Fathers Day weekend with my son.

The staff our very friendly and lovely and the pitches and facilities are top notch.
We stayed in May and it would have been nice if the cafe/restaurant would have opened for coffee and lunch. We ate at the restaurant every night (6 nights) and the meals were lovely.

I like that we always get a friendly and efficient welcome in reception. The chap on duty when we arrived was positively charming. I enjoy being able to have a meal and a drink in the bar after a long drive.

Our accommodation was a hard standing motorhome pitch, which is always reassuring in wet weather.
I would prefer to have indoor access to the toilets near the hard standing pitches, rather than using an outdoor terrace of toilets.

We stayed for 2 days. Lovely setting, plenty of room between pitches. Friendly, helpful staff. Swimming pool located in spot that gets the sun throughout the day. Lots to do for families. Close to Calais for crossings.
Only 1 sink for washing your hands after using the toilets, the soap dispenser was empty.

We had a pitch with electricity. The water tap was close by. Staff were concerned about the grass pitches as it had been raining. They put us on a pitch with a solid hard standing. Unfortunately due to the trees we didn’t get much sun. However there were plenty of places to sit in the sun throughout the site.

Being very close to calais, this a great stop for us at the start of our motorhome trip in Europe and we will stop again on our way back as its got a great vet nearby where we can get our little dog checked out before the ferry home. We stayed a couple of nights to break the journey to Calais, giving us time to visit the Blockhouse, which is well worth the walk.
Bakery was closed on the day we left, so no breakfast. Bakers deserve a day off, though....

Very helpful and friendly on arrival, a peaceful rural feel to the site. We really enjoyed our visit and would use it again. Limited menu in the restaurant, but the food we had was good. The site manager was kind enough to book a vet appointment for our dog for our return to England. A large motorbike rally turned up at one point but it was far enough away from us on the site not to be a nuisance.
The grass pitches could have done with mowing in places.

This is our go-to campsite when using the Channel Tunnel. We've had multiple one-night stop overs as Le Shuttle is conveniently close. We will someday soon make a longer stay here to explore the area. The site is clean, well spaced out and the staff are great. The restaurant serves delicious food.

The friendly informative welcome from the reception staff was much appreciated after a difficult journey to the site..The swimming pool was a real bonus in the very hot weather., we ate in the on site restaurant a couple of times and the staff were welcoming and polite. The newer facilities block was clean and well equipped. Make sure you take a torch for walking round at night. We were recommended by reception to visit The Bloc just down the road and we’re really grateful for the recommendation.

We have stopped here several times this year 2023 . Normally as a stop gap for the tunnel but said on our last stop how we would actually love to stay and explore longer . The place itself is beautiful . The chap on reception is so welcoming and helpful which is so refreshing putting you at ease straight away . Nothing is too much trouble . A clean well kept place . Even on a middle of night arrival when your tired the night guard makes it so easy for you .

A large pitch was offered due to size of our rig, (i.e. Motorhome, Car and trailer) however the pitch levels and overhanging branches lead to me requesting another pitch, which was accommodated with no fuss. Domestics block & amenities all very good and the grounds are a really nice walk. Pools (X2) looked lovely however after 3 weeks in Southern France the weather put us off using them. Supermarkets and fuel close at hand in Watten. Nice drive from campsite to Calais ferries via non toll road. Will definitely stay again.
Only comment I would make is the daily cost of a pitch compared to other sites that we stayed on during our month long visit to France. I can understand the higher cost of a pitch if people are only using the site for one night stopovers however, maybe some consideration could be given to customer rates for those customers wanting longer bookings. This would reduce the overall costs and possibly attract / encourage more customers to stay longer because its a great location and there is so much to see in the surrounding countryside and obviously so much history to explore whilst there.

This is one of our favourite campsites - perfect for a stop off en route to or from the ferry. It feels very quiet & rural, surrounded by trees, with great views and dark starry skies. The playground and pool are good for kids, and there's nice bike riding on quiet roads too. The restaurant does excellent traditional French food.
The toilets and showers are not up to the standard of the rest of the site or of other sites we visited. Pizza quite poor quality - fast food style, not a freshly cooked restaurant product.

A lovely campsite, close to calais for ferry. Julian on reception is a lovely guy and will help you with anything. Always smiling and very pleasant to speak with. He can speak English and French. Always our go to place for last few days of our holiday. Pools are amazing.

This is our second year visiting the site and we can’t fault it. Everything is perfect for a family stay. The swimming pool is amazing for the kids and the range of activities available suit everyone. Reception is incredibly helpful.
Only a very minor issue that it would be nice to have the restaurant/bar open for lunch and in the afternoon but totally appreciate why it isn’t.

Super friendly staff and proved an excellent option for me to relax and experience France before the final leg of my journey home. Never had kids with me on this occasion but from what I saw/experienced I would highly recommend this for families with young children. Lots for them to do. Good value rustic food and wine was also very welcome.

A lovely, family friendly campsite in a very handy loaction for stopover before Calais.
This was not one of the cheapest campsites we stayed in, so was a bit miffed when we had to pay an extra 7euros for electricity once we got there. We also got charged another 5euros for wifi which was included at every other campsite where we stayed. All in all a little bit on the pricey side so will be looking for somewhere a little less money grabbing in future.

A small shop on site with even just the basic essentials would be nice, although there is a very good supermarket about 2km away.

We have used this site as our first / last nights travelling to and from France. It is always immaculate, great kids playground, decent pitches, the reception team are super-helpful, the pools are lovely. Very handy supermarket ten minutes away in Watten.

Site was noisy during the night; teenagers shouting in the bathroom. Bathrooms were ok, but not the best in terms of cleanliness. Site was really quite expensive for the quality of service. This was our last few days after an extended holiday in France where we had stayed at 11 other campsites of varying size/region. This was the poorest standard.

We always stay here at the end of our holiday as it's convenient for the Tunnel home. We've never had any problems here, and even when we mess up the booking (3 times so far!) it's always sorted out quickly and easily. Nothing is too much of a problem and the staff are just fantastic. The pitches are well-kept and spacious, very good facilities, sanitary block is regularly cleaned and easily used.
CDP is obviously built to CAMC standards, which I hate, and I find it awkward to use. This is not a reason to stop using the site! It could be fixed by moving the tap to the side of the tray and it will be 80% better. The kids on the site were regularly pulling out toilet paper from the holder and leaving it on the floor. Can't blame the site for that, people need to be a bit more respectful. Prices have gone up a bit compared to BC (Before Covid), but then all of France (and UK) has been affected. These are minor points and we look forward to staying here for many years to come.

Lovely surroundings which were nice for a walk. Bar and restaurant good (we just had a drink) and we played table tennis which was fun but we had our own bats - be useful for people to hire or borrow things like that rather than expect everyone to have their own. The bread order was great! We didn't use the pools but they looked good.
I didn't like that the toilets are not in with the showers, and then the place to wash your hands after the toilet is outside with nothing to use to wipe them dry. The ladies showers had no hairdryers in there and I would expect this for a 4* site (we stayed at others on this trip that were only 3* and they all had them!).

Peaceful site with lots of open space and woodland for walking for the dogs (not that we took ours this time). Very helpful receptionist and choice of pitch. We've used this site as a stop over before but due to the weather we had to ammend our holiday and stayed at this site for the last four days of our holiday. Julien recommended places to visit which we did. The area is lovely and has some amazing war history.

We asked for a longer pitch as we have a motorhome with a motorbike on a trailer and it has never been a problem however all the pitches are spacious. The site is well maintained, the pools are within a walled area, and fresh baguettes and pastries are available for collection every morning. The showers and toilets are kept clean with plenty of hot water.

The campsite had a lovely feel about it, safe, well managed and relaxing
No toilets in the bar area so had to walk down to toilet blocks every time you needed to go. Also showers open and cold

This was our first time here we were very impressed. Beautiful surroundings, very good amenities and something to suit all ages. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant. Overall it is excellent value. We plan to return on our homeward journey.

We have loved coming to this site for over 15 years and the best part is the excellent service and help provided by Julien on reception. He has always helped us arrange our vet appointments and others useful information and support to make our stay special. Looking forward to our return stay in June.

Stayed in a lovely little lodge. Very quiet, pretty site in lovely countryside. Amenities spotless with pleasant helpful staff. Site manager Julian is a great guy and a pleasure to deal with.

A lovely warm welcome (always!) Excellent location, site. We usually stay our first night here en route to our main holiday destination. But are now considering having a short break there too as it is such beautiful place to stay.

Size of pitch. Relaxed owner. Beautiful surroundings. We stayed early May and just few weeks too early for the pools which was shame but all the rest was fab. Definitely stay again on way or to eurotunnel for few days. Julien the owner was also so welcoming and friendly.

Comfortable mobile home in peaceful surroundings. Not much to do in area and fierce guard dogs meant we were nervous about going anywhere on foot. However the campsite is lovely; the reception is friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant are lovely. The steak was beautifully cooked and the tarts Tatin was great. Prices in restaurant and bar are reasonable. Great to have a supermarket five minutes down the road.
The guard dogs prevalent in homes/farms outside the camp in the immediate area. The pools were not functional- it was too cold to use them but I would have liked to see them looking lovely. My quiche Lorraine wasn’t very nice.

We stayed for one night in very early April so they were just bringing the place back to life, the bar/restaurant was being refurbished and the pools were closed so we didn’t get the full experience but we had a warm informative reception, a choice of great pitches and the washing facilities were immaculately clean and in very good condition. A beautiful site.
Slippery mesh in grass made getting on chocks very tricky but better than getting stuck in mud!
