It’s our first time staying at the site and it was cracking campsite in a brilliant location, close to the Normandy sights and near the Ferry port. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the site two years ago for a two night stop over before crossing the channel on the way home as part of a Europe tour, the two days wasn't enough, so we decided to include the site this year for longer to end with a relaxing few days before the crossing. The site is quiet, relaxing and very well cared for. The facilities are excellent and the whole atmosphere is amazing. Check in and check out was smooth and easy with polite and charming staff. The restaurant food was very good with a waiter who's customer facing skills were second to non.

Maybe cut back some branches on the trees, although the shade was very welcome this year, some higher fans struggled with some of the lower branches.

We have stayed a few times before and love that it is a very relaxed and tranquil place to totally unwind after a couple of long days travelling before we get the ferry.

We would like the camping to be open for Easter so that we can bring our children to explore the Normandy beaches, museums and lovely Calvados area over 7-10 days. We would definitely stay more often then. Maybe just a short period for 2-3 weeks over Easter school holidays would be a big benefit to families that would love to stay.

The setting is amazing, not packed in like sardines. It’s basically staying at a Manor House in their garden. The little restaurant is fabulous, very good service. The pool looked fun and a nice tennis court if you have the energy. Beautiful place

Great campsite with plenty of room. Has a lovely restaurant and a bar and you can collect bread from a visiting boulangerie every morning.

All pitches in nice area with trees or hedges. Small but pleasant pool area which attracts the sun even on cool days, thankfully no slides. Pleasant shop which doesn’t require ordering baguettes and pastries. Restaurant and bar in an attractive courtyard which has a carried menu, not just pizzas and burgers although thy are available and good quality. It is a relaxing attractive campsite.

My only issue was that many campsites ask to complete payment the day before you leave. We were asked if we were paying the outstanding amount when we arrived which is not a problem. However our 15 year old dog became very unwell at home and we had to leave 2 days early, we were very distressed and were unable to arrive home in time to say goodbye. I asked if it was possible for a refund but was told no. This is my only issue but maybe it is allowed to pay on the day before you leave but we hadn’t asked.

The grounds were beautiful and pool was just lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also very good and again, very friendly staff.

The toilet block closest to the road/ entrance was serviceable but needed a little bit of an update. Men wandering into the ladies and looking in when doing the washing up! The men’s toilets were blocked at times. We booked for 4 but only bought three adults. I thought it would have be fair to refund the taxes at least.

the site provided a peaceful setting for our stay in Normandy, the site it superb, with beautiful surroundings and well manager grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and well managed.

We love this site and have visited regularly since 1996. I taught my granddaughter to dive in the pool just like her mum did about 30 years ago! The staff always appear happy and are polite and helpful.

We love it as it is but the gate to the pool slams quickly!

It's been many years since were were at Martragny and we love what they've done with the place. This time was just an overnight stay on our way home, but we have since pledged to return for a longer stay. We called in the afternoon to say we were arriving late (car trouble...) but Basile put us immediately at ease and clearly nothing was too much trouble for him: "It is your holiday, please don't worry", he said. Even offered to find us food if the restaurant was closed when we arrived (it wasn't). Great stuff. Tapestry or no, we'll be back!

We enjoyed the pool, table tennis tables and badminton net. We also had a very nice meal in the restaurant. It is a beautiful place and we have come here regularly for many years.

The sheets in the main toilet block were rather cold, with no option to adjust the temperature.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the site. The house was beautiful and the grounds nice too. The shop, pool, bar and restaurant were great assets. Its location was also perfect for exploring the Normandy sights. We also appreciated the rural location immediately off site where we enjoyed walking our dog.

We were charged our balance twice (we paid before and then on arrival). We queried it and it was resolved. I heard another client with the same issue so not an isolated problem. Your payment system should be more accurate to avoid this. I think more could be made of the grounds to entertain families - perhaps mini golf, petangue, large wooden play structure….??

Location and site are very good, pitches are good sizes and facilities are all good. Staff are great and help with questions. This was our second visit and will visit again when in the area.

Some shower push buttons were a little quick when they needed to be pushed again. Minor niggle when soapy

We return every year, the campsite is handy for the ferry. We end our touring holiday here as it is also near the D day beaches.

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of our trip. Nothing but praise for the site. Staff are excellent and nice food in the restaurant. It was very busy but most of the ref time you wouldn’t know as the camp is split into smallish zones. We will call back here I am sure.

Booking for the restaurant might help when it gets busy, but not a real issue.

The location, the facilities the restaurant and the pool were all great and we would stay here again in the future.

Eventually we were allowed to move pitch as the one we had was dark and by the old toilet block which is really not good. Once we had moved to the rear of the chateau we were fine and would return.

Pitches in front of reception have low overhanging trees making it difficult to access pitches. A number of pitches we were told were reserved for that evening but the whole trip no one was on them.

This is the second time we have stayed at Chateau De Martragny and like the first time it was just what we needed. Set in beautiful grounds the site is quiet and relaxed, the camping and caravan pitches are set out in an informal way so you can set up as you please. The facilities are spotlessly clean, fairly new, and plenty of them. The onsite restaurant /bar serves delicious meals at a very fair price, great in the evening after a day exploring the surrounding area. Fresh bread and pasteries in the small shop every morning. I think you get the picture? we loved it.

We have been to this site for many years with our children, we took a couple of years away from visiting france, due to covid and big family celebrations. Our children are all grown up so we decided to bring our campervan here, just my wife and I, hoping that things would be as perfect as they always were, we were not disappointed, the site is still as perfect as we remeber, from the lovely staff to the pitches, everyrhing is so clean and such friendly staff, this is the perfect place to, stop relax and unwind from lifes busy schedules. We will be coming back.
