Shower area in need of some minor upgrading, cleaners to remove the cobwebs.apart from that excellent

Swimming pool should be heated possibly covered more drainage on pitches for grey/ waste water, for caravans, hot water in showers, bread orders should be available to avoid queues shop to open earlier, low level lighting would be beneficial throughout the site, some shower/ toilet blocks need updating.

Beautiful campsite very near to Bayeux. Had a lovely pitch in one of the smaller areas quite near the pool. Only problem we had was 2 pigeons spent a lot of time in the tree above us & liked to poop on us. Put awning out for protection & this was plastered when we got home! Washed off quite easily. Would not have wanted to be on one of the pitches on the entrance to the site as very dark & shaded with traffic passing regularly. Great area for cycling. Also for visiting beaches & War Memorials. Were lucky to see the Tourde France while we were there. Restaurant & bar were fabulous Dog friendly

Get a peregrine or a sparrow hawk to deal with the pigeons!

The grounds and staff are wonderful, nothing too much trouble. Beautiful large pitches and facilities on site are excellent from the shop to the pool.

Water could be a bit on the cold side in the shower at the side of the chateau

Second time we stayed at the campsite, and enjoyed everything about it. Not the biggest site with a lot of entertainment, but all pitches are located close to the castle, and has a certain atmosphere.

Our pitch was in a lovely spot once agreed where we could camp and the restaurant was delicious

Having restrictions in place as other campers got up at 5am to leave and were making so much noise about 5x camping pitches surrounding us did it with complete disregard. This only happened one morning but they woke everyone up. Showers need improving as water flow was bad and not great flooring so dirty to get changed after.

This is an absolutely stunning setting, with the Chateau in the centre, lots of trees, a courtyard reception/shop/restaurant, great facilities that were clean despite the size of the site. The best part for us was the open air pool with view of the Chateau

We chose this site, having stayed at other Castels sites in the past and have been very satisfied. The reception and welcome was great, lots of information about the region, well stocked shop.

Our pitch was incredibly tight. Not enough room for the caravan and car and small porch awning. Luckily our friendly Dutch neighbours allowed us to park on theirs. The site was really busy. There was no hot water in the showers in the morning, and pitches are incredibly cramped so there is a complete lack of privacy.

Staff was friendly and there was always fresh bread in the morning. There’s a large field for children to play. Restaurant was very good for a campsite!

The toilets and showers could have been cleaner, with a lot of children at the campsite it wasn’t cleaned enough. Shop only opened at 9am and there were always queues. Could have opened a bit earlier.

Pitch was very tight due to overhanging apple trees and branches .Sjoeers for more often cold than hot especially if you took a shower after 9am. Toilets were not clean , the bowls needed to be clean , not just sprayed with lemon .

Liked everything really but especially the restaurant. The little/slim lady waitress with glasses who spoke really good English (sorry didn't get her name) was an absolute delight. she is an asset to your company, is a wonderful waitress, chatty (given she was very busy) and made us feel very welcome. Loved her! the food was nice too!

The site is very relaxed. The pool seems to have been revamped recently and appears to be warmer than I recall from previous visits. The bar and restaurant also seems to be a whole lot better than my memory serves - the staff were very welcoming, the area inside and out was a delight to eat in and the standard of cooking was excellent.

Of the pitches we were offered 3 of the 4 were unsuitable - 1 was far too small, 1 was in a not very nice spot next to the garage and 2 were completely masked by low hanging trees - we could not have pitched on them without potentially damaging our caravan. While there is a fairly recently installed toilet block, the other blocks round the site are now in need of upgrading. 9 am is too late to open the shop for breakfast.

Initial reception slightly haphazard with regard to site. Initial site already occupied by spill over from adjacent site. No one to guide to site.

I enjoy the general ambiance of the site and its position re the landing beaches and monuments.

I was disappointed with how reception went. It was alleged our travelling companions had asked for site 12 which was untrue- they had never been to Martragny before and knew nothing of it. We were then directed to two pitches which were too small as neighbouring units had encroached upon the sites. The emplacements in that area were not well defined and obviously no one checks or takes people to their pitch otherwise we could have used the pitches. We did find suitable pitches and enjoyed our stay thereafter.

We loved the location of the site to visit the beaches of Normandy, we asked for a pitch which we could leave easily for an early ferry, we were given a pitch along the drive which was a considerable walk to the amenities
