The location, the facilities the restaurant and the pool were all great and we would stay here again in the future.

More pitches with personal water connection would be a bonus

Eventually we were allowed to move pitch as the one we had was dark and by the old toilet block which is really not good. Once we had moved to the rear of the chateau we were fine and would return.

Pitches in front of reception have low overhanging trees making it difficult to access pitches. A number of pitches we were told were reserved for that evening but the whole trip no one was on them.

This is the second time we have stayed at Chateau De Martragny and like the first time it was just what we needed. Set in beautiful grounds the site is quiet and relaxed, the camping and caravan pitches are set out in an informal way so you can set up as you please. The facilities are spotlessly clean, fairly new, and plenty of them. The onsite restaurant /bar serves delicious meals at a very fair price, great in the evening after a day exploring the surrounding area. Fresh bread and pasteries in the small shop every morning. I think you get the picture? we loved it.

We have been to this site for many years with our children, we took a couple of years away from visiting france, due to covid and big family celebrations. Our children are all grown up so we decided to bring our campervan here, just my wife and I, hoping that things would be as perfect as they always were, we were not disappointed, the site is still as perfect as we remeber, from the lovely staff to the pitches, everyrhing is so clean and such friendly staff, this is the perfect place to, stop relax and unwind from lifes busy schedules. We will be coming back.

We liked the choice of pitches; the driveway up to the chateau was spectacular. The showers and toilets were clean and the site was kept tidy. We particularly liked the bread and pastries each morning

We have visited this multiple times since 2006 and it never disappoints. The facilities are excellent and the reception is warm. There is a huge amount of space, which was invaluable during the recent "canicule" (heatwave). Many of the pitched (not all) are shaded by mature trees. This is site for those who like a slow pace.

Please don't change too much.

The Chateau and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms are large and a privilege to stay in. The breakfasts overlooking the walled garden offer a big choice. We ate at the onsite restaurant both evenings. It's very convenient and good quality and value. We enjoyed the garden, pool and tennis court. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Bayeux, D-Day beaches and Caen Ferry all nearby. We'll be back!

Location and facilities

The electricity to pitch 82 was low voltage, causing my refrigerator to alarm, this seems to be an issue when the supply box is full x5 units. Had to use refrigerator on gas.

We did enjoy our stay in a beautiful setting and the pool was super. We endured the hottest day on record for June so very thankful for the pool. The food in the restaurant was good with excellent service. There were a few noisy campers but that's humans for you!!

One thing that we feel really is an issue is the toilet disposal area. It has no screening, there is nothing to prevent a child playing there! Also no brush to clean after use and no hose to rinse your cartridge. Its just outside the shower block but very close to the restaurant windows!!! Some fence panels placed around the area to build a cordon is all that is needed to improve health and safety there.

We stayed at the Chateau Montagny for two nights. It was beautiful in the orchard. Facilities were excellent and the food in the restaurant was very good. The epiciere had a range of great wine and beer along with other essentials.

Evening meal and location

Unclear on the pricing as it was not displayed or communicated what the actual breakdown was. Appeared to be overcharged for our stay. Both toilet blocks were unclean and not suitable for showering or toilet use which would put me off returning. Dirt on the wall of the showers, and toilets were filthy. Need to seriously consider the cleaning of the facilities as not up to a 4* rating. CAMC price cheaper than direct booking with the site. ACSI discount is not applied even though ACSI certified

We stayed a week to commemorate D-Day with our WW2 vehicles and equipment.

There are three things we particularly like about the campsite. 1. Th restaurant. 2. The main shower block. 3. The facilities on site - swimming pool, fishing pond, table tennis etc.

Make pain au raisin available from the shop in the morning. ( Pain au raisin used to be available.)

Very pleasant surroundings, nice pool but too cold to use it. Over 50 euros for camping car with 2 adults and electricity for one night in June does not represent value.

Service in restaurant poor. Desserts never arrived - asked for bill after excessive wait. Server did his best, manager disengaged, no real attempt to serve us despite only 4 other tables. Pity, main courses were good.

The location was terrific for all amenities, and within close proximity to many commemorative sites which we wanted to visit. The bathroom, washing, and leisure amenities were also excellent, and food from either the shop or the on site restaurant were equally as exceptional; we’ll definitely be back.

As a group of 5 motorcyclists, camping out of tents, the noise from the nearby motorway was intrusive, and a couple of very early morning deliveries disturbed our sleep, though wouldn’t put us off staying again.

Some years since I stayed here….several times during D-Day celebrations. Old world hospitality provided by the family owners.

At that time, the plumbing was traditional’ ! Catering was most satisfactory, entertainment was varied and enjoyable….provided by fellow guests who visited from places further east !

The grounds are immaculate, as are the sanitary facilities. Our pitch was a perfect spot although not a lot of sun for the two nights we were there. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Perhaps make the food offerings a little wider; there were no pizzas available and no tiramisu!😢😢. Prices were a little on the high side; you might have more customers if your food was a little less pricey although I am aware of the continuing spiral of prices of ingredients and staff costs.

The campsite is well laid out with generous spaces. The shower blocks are modern and clean.

Price is at top of the range, for example electricity 7 euro/day Security is inadequate as there is no barrier. At 01:00 one night drunken campers arrived back by taxi and woke me up with shouting .

Swimming pool should be heated possibly covered more drainage on pitches for grey/ waste water, for caravans, hot water in showers, bread orders should be available to avoid queues shop to open earlier, low level lighting would be beneficial throughout the site, some shower/ toilet blocks need updating.

Beautiful campsite very near to Bayeux. Had a lovely pitch in one of the smaller areas quite near the pool. Only problem we had was 2 pigeons spent a lot of time in the tree above us & liked to poop on us. Put awning out for protection & this was plastered when we got home! Washed off quite easily. Would not have wanted to be on one of the pitches on the entrance to the site as very dark & shaded with traffic passing regularly. Great area for cycling. Also for visiting beaches & War Memorials. Were lucky to see the Tourde France while we were there. Restaurant & bar were fabulous Dog friendly

Get a peregrine or a sparrow hawk to deal with the pigeons!

Second time we stayed at the campsite, and enjoyed everything about it. Not the biggest site with a lot of entertainment, but all pitches are located close to the castle, and has a certain atmosphere.

Our pitch was in a lovely spot once agreed where we could camp and the restaurant was delicious

Having restrictions in place as other campers got up at 5am to leave and were making so much noise about 5x camping pitches surrounding us did it with complete disregard. This only happened one morning but they woke everyone up. Showers need improving as water flow was bad and not great flooring so dirty to get changed after.
